About the Position

The Associate Manager, Audience & Trend Insights has a unique opportunity to illuminate insights about people and culture that will keep Hasbro and Wizards brands fresh and relevant in a fast-changing world! In this role on the Analytics, Insights and Measurement (AIM) team, you will gather, synthesize, and deliver foundational insights about the key demographic audiences the company serves and the trends impacting their needs for play and entertainment. With mentorship from your teammates, you will engage with a range of external partners and insight resources to uncover knowledge that informs long-range plans, brand strategies, franchise development, product innovation, and marketing campaigns. You will also partner with AIM team members aligned to brand portfolios to support ad hoc data and insights needs. As part of a similarly passionate team, you’ll strive to uncover meaningful signals from qualitative and quantitative sources and support the weaving of data and human insight into impactful story-driven deliverables. Your work will inspire consumer understanding and empathy that enables Hasbro and Wizards brands to embed trend-forward appeal into the experiences it crafts for kids, adults, families, fans, and gamers.

Responsibilities:

Mine mainstream outlets and insight partner materials for meaningful consumer trends, cultural shifts, or emerging competitors in play, gaming, entertainment, and retail, elevating notable findings within the team and to a trend intelligence library accessible throughout the company.

  • Evaluate trends with a critical eye, striving to hypothesize the “why” behind them, the broader human insights they reflect, and their relevance to Hasbro and Wizards brands and audiences.

  • Partner with the Audiences & Trends team’s lead storyteller to integrate trends into organizing frameworks that structure our collective point of view and connect to broader narratives around the evolution of culture and consumer needs.

  • Proactively curate audience/trend insights and assist with framing them to be featured across a range of deliverables, including custom topic reports, email communications, design brainstorms, and brand application sessions.

  • Represent Audiences & Trends’ existing body of knowledge to internal partners, elevating relevant materials to address ad hoc stakeholder questions and guiding users on how to effectively leverage the always-on insight tools available to them.

  • Elevate the broader efficiency of AIM Consumer Insights by occasionally assisting with essential tasks across the team (survey programming/testing, data pulls, etc.).

REQUIREMENTS

  • 0-2 years of experience in consumer insights, ethnographic research, cultural analysis, or trend observation (career experience is a plus but not required; related internship or academic project experience welcome)

  • Authentic curiosity about people, culture, and trends, especially pertaining to play and/or the world of entertainment fandom

  • Self-identification as an action/adventure IP fan (e.g., Transformers, Marvel, Star Wars, etc.), with nuanced understanding of the motivations that drive fandom and the behaviors that express it

  • Strong dot-connecting and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent prioritization and project management capabilities

  • Passion for innovating, with energy for creating new capabilities to maximize impact

  • Growth mindset and flexibility to adapt offerings to meet shifts in stakeholder needs

  • Ability to tell concise, compelling stories with data and insights

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills  

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Experience leveraging AI tools for insight synthesis, distillation, and communication

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools and navigating Power BI dashboards

Education and Experience: 

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required, preferably in social sciences or humanities

  • MBA, other advanced degree, or additional education in consumer insights/analytics a plus
