About the Position

We’re seeking motivated self-starters with a passion for beauty and skincare! Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; be analytical, and hard-working, have a positive attitude, and be a team player. 

It’s Summer Internship Season and we’re looking for beauty-loving, skincare-obsessed, detail-oriented interns to join our for-credit-only unpaid Summer Internship Program! An internship at Glow Recipe means you’ll gain experience in the beauty field by working with a rapidly growing, skincare-focused startup!

As an Accounting Intern at Glow Recipe, you will work closely with the Finance team to gain hands-on experience in the world of accounting. You’ll be able to support various accounting functions and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. The successful intern will have the opportunity to assist in day-to-day accounting activities, gain exposure to financial reporting, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Get hands-on experience in the AP and AR functions in processing invoices, verifying transactions, and maintaining accurate records for accounts payable and receivable.

  • Expense Tracking: Learn and support the tracking and analysis of expenses, helping to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve overall financial efficiency.

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Shadow and assist in maintaining and updating the general ledger, ensuring accurate coding and classification of transactions.

  • Audit Support: Participate and support during internal and external audits, including gathering relevant documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.

  • Ad Hoc Projects: Work with cross-function teams on various special projects as needed, providing analytical and research support to address specific finance-related challenges.

  • Candidates must be able to receive credits for the internship program and meet the minimum number of hours required.

    • Able to work 3-4 half days (either morning or afternoons, hours have to be consecutive) or 2-3 full days (~9:30 am – 5:30 pm ET).

  • Reports To: Accounting Manager & Controller

  • Ideal Start Date: June, 2024

  • Location: Remote

  • Work Hours (we prefer 2 full days at a minimum)

    • 3-4 half days (either morning or afternoons, hours have to be consecutive) or 

    • 2-3 full days

      • Year-round: 9:30 am – 5:30 pm ET

      • Summer Fridays (Memorial Day to Labor Day): Monday through Thursday, 9 am - 6 pm ET, Friday, 9 am - 1 pm ET

Responsibilities

  • Receive guidance and support Accounting team with Ad Hoc requests and projects

  • Work closely with managers to provide weekly updates on tasks and key initiatives to the manager

  • Receive hands-on experience in accounting programs by marking paid bills on NetSuite paid on Bill.com

  • Receive hands-on experience using Bill.com by reviewing and sending reminders for any unapproved bills

Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Candidates must be self-starters and have a passion for marketing, beauty, and skincare

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, operations, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

  • Excellent written, analytical, and communication skills

  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Hard-working, positive team player; flexible when business needs change

  • A plus if you live in the greater NYC area
