Social Media Assistant Intern, Lexicon of Style

Location: New York City (In-Person)
Schedule:
2–3 days per week
Type: Internship (Eligible for College Credit) → Opportunity for Paid Role

About the Role

A New York–based content creator is seeking an ORGANIZED Social Media Assistant Intern to support video content across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and YouTube long-form. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who understands short-form video deeply—both technically and creatively—and who knows how to capture candid, relatable, and funny moments that resonate online.

Ideally I'd like to keep this person on for a year. This position starts as an internship (eligible for college credit) with a clear path to a paid role, and significant room to grow as content output, partnerships, and new brand initiatives expand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit short-form video for TikTok, Instagram Reels (using Instagram’s Edits app), and syndicated YouTube Shorts

  • Assist with long-form YouTube and vlog-style content

  • Help support consistency across platforms, including recurring series and formats

  • Track, research, and surface trend forecasting across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube

  • Support filming days (in-home, NYC outings, events, brand moments).

    • MUST BE GOOD AT TAKING PHOTOS AND VIDEO

  • Help develop candid, relatable, and humorous content with strong pacing and timing

    • But keep a good eye

  • Support the creation of a new vlog world and storytelling formats

  • Organize content, drafts, and workflows to support regular posting

  • Assist in early content development for a new lifestyle side project focused on productivity, ADHD, and Type-B living (separate from the creator’s personal brand)

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts

  • Strong working knowledge of Instagram’s Edits app (required)

  • Experience editing video using CapCut, Instagram native tools, and/or Adobe Premiere

  • Strong sense of humor, timing, and internet relatability

  • Ability to edit in a way that feels candid, chaotic (in a good way), and shareable

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, real-time content environment

  • Organized, proactive, and execution-oriented

  • Interest in vlogging, storytelling, and series-based content

  • Must be available in person in NYC 2–3 days per week

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Familiarity with influencer marketing or creator workflows

  • Interest in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, pop culture, or digital media

  • Curiosity around productivity, ADHD, or alternative creative workflows

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience working directly with a full-time creator

  • Exposure to brand partnerships, campaigns, and event-based content

  • Direct mentorship in short-form strategy, trend forecasting, and editing

  • Real ownership over content systems, series, and execution

  • Early involvement in building a new lifestyle brand from the ground up

  • Opportunity to transition into a paid role with long-term growth potential

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit:

  • A brief introduction

  • Links to relevant social media accounts (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube)

  • Examples of video editing work that show humor, pacing, and relatability

  • Availability and eligibility for college credit (if applicable)

  • Submit your application materials to lex@lexiconofstyle.co.
