Overview

Fran Hauser is seeking an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Book Launch Manager to support the launch of her next book, TWENTY MINUTES IS THE NEW HOUR. This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career candidate interested in publishing and marketing to gain hands-on experience managing a book launch from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Preorder & Sales Campaign Management

  • Support and help execute the preorder campaign, including:

    • Coordinating with corporate and bulk-order partners

    • Managing direct-to-consumer preorder initiatives and incentives

  • Track preorder activity and help identify opportunities to build momentum

Launch Planning & Execution

  • Maintain a master launch timeline and ensure key milestones are met

  • Assist in planning and executing launch activities 

  • Coordinate logistics for virtual and in-person book events 

  • Serve as a central point of coordination across events, deadlines, and stakeholders

Content Calendar Management

  • Own and maintain the master launch content calendar, aligned with major milestones (preorder push, reviews, events, publication week, post-launch)

  • Coordinate with Fran and the content team to ensure the timely creation, approval, and delivery of assets

  • Identify opportunities to repurpose existing content (press, podcast appearances, pull quotes, events) across platforms

Press, Media & Promotion

  • Track press coverage, podcast appearances, reviews, and media mentions

  • Collect and organize pull quotes and testimonials for promotional use

  • Support outreach to partners, influencers, and media as needed

  • Vet and manage inbound media, partnership, and speaking requests

Project Management & Communication

  • Keep all launch-related tasks organized and moving forward

  • Ensure nothing falls through the cracks during a fast-paced launch period

  • Communicate clearly, proactively, and professionally with Fran and team

Ideal Candidate

  • 1–2 years out of college, or a recent graduate with relevant internship experience

  • Background in publishing, media, marketing, PR, or related fields (including internships in editorial, publicity, marketing, or events)

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through

  • Comfortable managing calendars, timelines, and checklists across multiple workstreams

  • Strong written communication skills 

  • Prior project management experience preferred

Details

  • Contract, part-time role 

  • $20/hour

  • Duration: February–October

  • 10 - 15 hours/week (more intense around launch)

  • Remote-friendly
