About the Position

We are looking for an Editorial Intern to join our Talk Editorial team. As an Intern, you will assist the team in the development and promotion of culturally relevant, topical content across genres. You will also be assisting with special projects across our team. Above all, your work will impact the connection between a user and a creator and the way in which Spotify users experience talk content on-platform.

Our paid summer internships last for 10-13 weeks and start at the beginning of June. The last day to apply is February 28th, 2023 at 11:59 PM ET.

The United States hourly rate for this position is 27.00 USD (Undergraduate First Year & Sophomores), 32.00 USD (Undergraduate Juniors & Seniors), 44.00 USD (Masters) & 58.00 USD (PhD) per hour plus a one-time intern stipend of 2,253 USD. This position is overtime eligible. These rates may be modified in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Listen to and identify the best podcast content on Spotify that our listeners would enjoy

  • Assist with curating and programming across themes, moments, and genres

  • Work on special editorial and creator-driven projects that align with team and company needs

  • Identify themes, cultural moments, and talent curations that can be packaged into playlists, hubs, and other listening experiences

  • Contribute to projects across subject matters to promote rising and established podcast creators on Spotify

Experience and Education

  • A current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, or Marketing and planning to graduate in 2024

  • You currently have valid work authorization to work in the country in which this role is based that will extend from June to August 2023

  • You know how to identify quality audio content and which audiences it will resonate with

  • You are experienced with content curation, project management, and using data to inform business decisions

  • You have a deep understanding of the live talk/podcasting industry, the creator economy landscape, and trending topics in pop culture

  • You care about elevating diverse creators and building programs to promote their success on platform

  • You have relevant work experience in audio/content development, curation, and promotion that you can tell us about

  • Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the Americas region in which we have a work location.

  • For this role, you can choose to either work from home or from one of our office locations.

  • Working hours? We operate within the Eastern Time Zone for collaboration.
